This series revisits the boundless optimism to be found in educational filmstrips of the 1960s and early 1970s. I find them particularly poignant given our era's serious environment and political problems. The source films I worked with lost all their color turning to a harsh red monochrome. Their faded condition emphasizes our temporal and psychological distance from a time which now seems so sadly naive. I use various tube-pure colors monochromatically to acknowledge the pop art spirit of the era.
